Just ahead of its season 3 premiere last week, Sundance Channel’s award-winning series Rectify was renewed for a fourth season that will begin in 2016. We’ll have to wait and see how many episodes the season will contain.

“Even in an increasingly crowded field of dramas on television, RECTIFY has established itself as something special,” said Charlie Collier , president of AMC and SundanceTV. “What Ray McKinnon, this incredible cast and everyone associated with the show have been able to achieve is remarkable, and we are so pleased to usher in this third season with an order for a fourth. RECTIFY has had such a huge impact in establishing SundanceTV as a home for high-quality, intelligent drama. We are excited to continue this important partnership with Ray and the entire team.”

The slow-burning drama centers on Daniel Holden ( Aden Young ), who returns to his rural hometown after 19 years on death row.

As he struggles to cope with his past and forge a “normal” life, everyone around him is affected, especially his very fractured family.

The acclaimed series also co-stars Abigail Spencer ( Oz the Great and Powerful ), J. Smith-Cameron ( Man on a Ledge ), Clayne Crawford ( Rogue ), Adelaide Clemens ( The Great Gatsby ), Luke Kirby ( Take This Waltz ), Jake Austin Walker ( Burning Palms ), Bruce McKinnon ( Lawles s), Michael O’Neill ( Extant ), and Sharon Conley ( If Loving You Is Wrong ).

Tune into Rectify on Thursdays at 10:00pm ET/PT on SundanceTV.
