Watch: Idris Elba Molds Child Soldiers in Haunting ‘Beasts of No Nation’ Trailer

Netflix has finally unveiled the official trailer and poster for its Idris Elba -led African war drama, Beasts of No Nation , in theaters and available on the streaming service worldwide on October 16, 2015.

In the clip above, we get a terrifying look at how a young West African boy named Agu, played by newcomer Abraham Attah , is forced to join Elba’s unit of mercenary fighters during a civil war.

Directed and written by Cary Fukunaga ( Sin Nombre ), Beasts of No Nation is based on the bestselling 2005 novel of the same name by Uzodinma Iweala .

The film also stars Ama K. Abebrese and Opeyemi Fagbohungbe .

It was an Official Selection at the 2015 Venice International Film Festival , 2015 Toronto International Film Festival , and 2015 Telluride Film Festival .

Fukunaga produced the feature along with Amy Kaufman, Daniela Taplin Lundberg, Riva Marker and Dan Crown under Participant Media and Red Crown. Bleecker Street is distributing the film to small and independent theaters.
