What is Sinuous Magazine?

Launched in Fall of 2010, Sinuous Magazine is a diverse mixture of culture, art and design, music, events, technology, fashion and more from around the world.

Who is behind Sinuous Magazine?

We were founded by our Editor-in-Chief, Lanaé, who launched our parent company, theComplex Media & Design, a NYC-based design boutique in 2006.

The core writing and editing staff is made up by Julianna — who focuses on fashion news, Teonny Spears – our pop culture expert, and Di and Lanaé — who write about everything in between.

We’re also heavily supported by our guest writers and contributors who understand our audience. If you’d like to contribute, let us know!

Why was Sinuous Magazine created?

Inspired by other content creators, Lanaé simply wanted to share interesting news, as well as her opinion on various topics, with friends and family.

Over 60,000 monthly readers later, the audience has clearly expanded itself (and we thank you!), creating the opportunity and necessity for bringing on additional staff.

Sinuous Magazine still reflects a 20-something entrepreneurial woman of color living in a big city, who is as interested in PHP coding, as she is the season’s latest fashion trends and what current events are affecting her community.
