Sinuous Magazine is a diverse mixture of culture and perspectives on art, film, music, fashion and more.
We were launched September 2010 by our Editor-in-Chief Lanaé, founder of our parent company theComplex Media & Design, a NYC-based design boutique in 2006.
Inspired by other content creators, Lanaé simply wanted to create a way to share interesting news, as well as her opinion on various topics, with friends and family.
Sinuous Magazine reflects a 20-something entrepreneurial woman of color living in a big city, who is as interested in website coding as she is the season’s latest fashion trends, or what current events are affecting communities.
As of February 2014, Sinuous Magazine averages 79,000 monthly readers and 213,000 monthly pageviews. Our social channels reach over 17,800 people.
We have a worldwide footprint, with our top five reader locations being the United States, Brazil, UK, Canada and Germany.
More specifically, most of our readers reside in New York, London, Los Angeles, Miami, Sao Paulo, Chicago, Rio De Janeiro, Toronto and Houston.
We have been cited by various publications including FastCompany, BBC Radio, Washington Post, various Wikipedia pages, and Erroll Southers‘ book Homegrown Violent Extremism (2013). We’re also proudly one of alltop.com‘s pop culture sites.
