Sinuous Magazine is dedicated to providing a diverse mixture of culture and perspectives on art, film, music, fashion and more.
Launched in September 2010 and rebranded in August 2012, our team consists of Editor-in-Chief Lanaé McL’evans (theComplex) and pop culture expert Teonny Spears. We’re also supported by our frequent guest contributors Adrian C. Rivers, Diva Bleu, and Maharri.
In 2013, our efforts resulted in a partnership with Marriott to cover BET Awards in Los Angeles, California.
We’re small but steadily growing. Sinuous Magazine averages 90,000 monthly readers and 220,000 monthly pageviews across over 3,500 articles. 36% of site traffic comes in through organic searches, and 13% of traffic comes in through our social channels, where we have approximately 18,000 subscribers.
Sinuous Mag’s audience consists largely of college-educated women of color who are eager to see multi-faceted representations of themselves in film, music, television, fashion and technology. Our top five reader locations are the United States, Brazil, the UK, Canada and Germany. More specifically, most readers reside in New York, London, Los Angeles, Miami, Sao Paulo, Chicago, Rio De Janeiro, Toronto and Houston.
