Jennifer Lopez, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, and Chris Brown added to 2013 Billboard Awards lineup
The 2013 Billboard Music Awards are only 16 days away, but that isn’t stopping the producers of the show to reveal more details about performers.
Lil Wayne, who is recovering from another seizure, Nicki Minaj, Jennifer Lopez, and Chris Brown, will all be hitting the stage at the May 19 event.
Also joining the new list of performers are Akon, Ne-Yo, David Guetta and Icona Pop . Lil Wayne and Nicki will perform together, while while Ne-Yo and Akon will crash the turntables with David Guetta.
The new list of performers join previously announced artists such as Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Selena Gomez, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Miguel and Justin Bieber — just to name a few.
Iconic singer-producer and songwriter Prince , will be honored with the Billboard Icon Award during the broadcast, produced by Don Mischer and sponsored by Chevrolet and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.
The award show’s nominees of finalists, as Billboard likes to call them, were chosen based on key fan interactions with music, including album and digital singles sales, radio airplay, touring, streaming and social interactions on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, VEVO, Spotify and other popular online destinations for music.
These measurements were tracked year-round by Billboard and its data partners, including Nielsen Entertainment and Next Big Sound.
Comedian Tracy Morgan was announced as the host for this year’s event, which is set to air live on on May 19th, 8/7c from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on ABC.
