Drake’s Nothing Was The Same is now set to release September 24th (originally September 17th), and the rapper has revealed the official album artwork.
Painted by Kadir Nelson , who also created the cover art for Michael Jackson ’s first posthumous album Michael , Drake is depicted as an afro-toting baby on one cover and his gold chain-wearing, adult self in a second.
As the Canadian rapper’s third studio album, Drake has stated that the inspiration for NWT S was drawn from the honesty in Marvin Gaye ‘s confessional and controversial 1978 album, Here, My Dear , which chronicled the decline of the late legend’s first marriage.
The album is preceded by singles “Started From the Bottom” and “ Hold On, We’re Going Home,” and will feature appearances by Jay-Z , Lil Wayne , and Hudson Mohawke .
