Kanye Chooses “Bound 2″ as Second ‘Yeezus’ Single

Kanye West has selected the Charlie Wilson -assisted “Bound 2″ as the official second single from Yeezus , which dropped June 18th.

Produced by Kanye, Che Pope, Eric Danchild, Noah Goldstein, No I.D., and Mike Dean , the song has been hailed by fans and critics as Yeezus ‘ only remnant of Ye’s older, beloved work — his 2004 debut The College Dropout specifically.

“Bound 2″ boasts a slew of samples: Wee ‘s 1977 song Aeroplane (Reprise) ,” Ponderosa Twins Plus One ‘s 1971 track Bound ,” and Brenda Lee ‘s 1960 tune Sweet Nothin’s .”

It has so far peaked at #5 on Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles and #31 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.

“Bound 2″ follows radical lead single “Black Skinhead,” which released on July 2, 2013, and has peaked at #69 on the Billboard Hot 100, #21 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, and #15 on Rap Songs.

As Ye’s sixth studio album, Yeezus debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 — selling 327,000 copies, and went certified Gold on August 12th — selling over 500,000 copies.
