Drew Sidora, Keke Palmer, and Lil Mama as TLC in ‘Crazy, Sexy, Cool: The TLC Story’

Awhhh… cue the nostalgia! VH1 has released a first look at the main cast of their forthcoming TLC biopic titled, Crazy, Sexy, Cool: The TLC Story.

The film stars actress Keke Palmer (True Jackson VP) as Rozonda “Chilli” ThomasDrew Sidora (The Game) as Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, and rapper Lil’ Mama (America’s Best Dance Crew) as the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes.

Directed by Charles Stone III (DrumlinePaid in FullMr. 3000), the movie will take us down the road of the girl group’s humble ATL beginnings and unprecedented rise to fame in the 90s as one of the world’s most talented, celebrated and highest-selling female groups of all time.

Written by Kate Lanier (What’s Love Got To Do With ItSet it OffBeauty Shop), Crazy, Sexy, Cool, also stars Evan Ross (ATL) as producer Dallas Austin and Donny Boaz (The Great Debaters) as TLC’s manager Bill Diggins.

Carl Anthony Payne II (Martin) is playing Antonio L.A. Reid and Rochelle Aytes (Mistresses) plays Perri ‘Pebbles‘ Reid.

The two surviving members of the group, Chilli and T-Boz, serve as consultants and executive producers for the movie along with Diggins, Maggie Malina, Jeff OldeJill Holmes and Alexander A. Motlagh.

Chill recently had this to say about the film:

“It’s gonna be juicy…good juicy! It’s totally about the three of us and all the trials and tribulations that we’ve gone through and all the way up to where we are today. We’re gonna touch on a lot of things people did not know about, things we were going through and help people understand some of the things they heard about. They’re gonna get the back story.”

The film will premiere on VH1 in October 2013!
