Cher Unveils ‘Closer to the Truth’ Official Album Covers & Tracklistings

I’ve been waiting for this moment to happen since June and here it is! Cher , the Queen of Reinvention and simply the Goddess of Pop Music, has finally unveiled the official cover art for her upcoming 26th solo studio album Closer to the Truth , which is set to be released on September 24, 2013, as well as the official standard and deluxe edition tracklistings.

Even though the cover instantly reminded me of the second official promo shot we got of Britney during the Femme Fatale era (did I mention that it’s also heavily photoshopped?), I still absolutely love it.

Looking at the singer and actress lie on a fluffy blanket with cream colored lingerie and one of her many “natural blonde wigs,” it’s hard to believe that she is 67 years old!

Take a look at what Cher had to say about the album below in May of this year when she was being interviewed on 20/20:

“It’s about being fabulous. Truthfully, I’m not a huge Cher fan and I’ve said this many times, but I think this is the best album I’ve ever done. The songs are so brilliant. I got so lucky. The closest thing to this album I think is the Believe album.”

Recorded between late 2011 and early this year, Cher worked with Diane Warren, Timbaland, Mark Taylor, Matt Morris, P!nk, Kuk Harrell, Paul Oakenfold , and Lady Gaga — just to name a few.

Jake Shears of the Scissor Sisters makes an appearance on a song entitled “Take It Like a Man,” while P!nk, who is mentioned earlier as a collaborater, wrote two songs on the album and lends her vocals to the background of one.

There will also be three different versions of the album: a standard edition, with 11 songs, a deluxe with 17 including 2 remixes to “Woman’s World,” and a Target version. Take a look at the tracklistings below and tell us what you think of the album cover:
