If you are a fan of duo Macklemore & Ryan Lewis then I have some good news for you. Their debut studio album The Heist has crossed the one million copies sold mark.
The set sold 19,000 copies last week bringing its cumulative sales figure to 1,017,000, according to Nielsen SoundScan , which means that the album will soon earn a Platinum certification!
The album, which was independently released on October 9, 2012, reached the #1 spot on iTunes within hours of being released with no mainstream promotion or support, and debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart.
The Heist has spurred three hit singles: “Thift Shop,” featuring Wanz , which spent six weeks atop the Hot 100 chart; “Can’t Hold Us,” featuring Ray Dalton , which topped the list for five week; and “Same Love,” featuring Mary Lambert , which is currently at #3.
Along with embarking on a tour called The Fall World Tour , which officially kicks off on October 22, 2013 in Portland, Oregon, the group has also announced that the fourth single from their album will be the Schoolboy Q and Hollis -assisted single “White Walls.” Thoughts?
