The Weeknd’s Official Album Cover for ‘Kiss Land’

If you are a fan of The Weeknd, then I have some great news for you.

The singer-songwriter, who has received praise from several music publications as well as some controversy with his lyrics, has unveiled the tracklisting for his upcoming album Kiss Land.

Though he previously released three mixtapes, as well as a compilation of those mixtapes entitled Trilogy last year, the Canadian singer considers this album as his debut studio album — and that is just alright with me.

Set to be released on September 10, 2013 by XO and Republic Records, the standard edition of the album features 10 tracks, while the deluxe will feature an additional two.

The album, available now for pre-order, is preceded by its lead single Belong To The World,” which debuted on July 16th. A video for the song premiered on the same day.

The Drake-assisted “Live For” hit the internet on August 19th. Listen below.

Before you take a look at the tracklistings, check out what he had to say about the album’s title and concept in an interview with Complex last month:

“Kiss Land symbolizes the tour life, but it’s a world that I created in my head. Just like House of Balloons symbolizes Toronto and my experiences there, but it’s a world that I created.

When I think about Kiss Land, I think about a terrifying place. It’s a place I’ve never been to before that I’m very unfamiliar with.

A lot of it is inspired by filmmakers like John Carpenter, David Cronenberg, and Ridley Scott, because they know how to capture fear.

That’s what Kiss Land is to me, an environment that’s just honest fear.

I don’t know who I am right now and I’m doing all these outlandish things in these settings that I’m not familiar with. To me, it’s the most terrifying thing ever.

So when you hear the screams in the record and you hear all these horror references and you feel scared, listen to the music because I want you to feel what I’m feeling. Kiss Land is like a horror movie.”
