‘Fruitvale Station’ Unveils Second New Poster + Support Oscar Grant Mural Project
Another new poster has been revealed for Ryan Coogler‘s harrowing film Fruitvale Station, winner of both the Grand Jury Prize for dramatic feature at Cannes and the Audience Award for U.S. dramatic film at Sundance 2013.
Starring Michael B. Jordan as Oscar Grant, the 22-year-old young man killed by a BART police officer in 2009, along with Oscar-winning actress Octavia Spencer (The Help), and Chad Michael Murray (One Tree Hill), Fruitvale is produced by Forest Whitaker.
The film is the first feature-length project from Coogler, a 26-year-old USC School of Cinematic Arts graduate.
Already rolling in rave reviews, it will hit select theaters July 12, 2013 with nationwide roll out July 26, 2013!
In other Oscar Grant news, famed street artists LNY, Ron English, Eddie Colla, and Lydia Emily will soon unveil three murals in his honor to be placed in San Francisco, Williamsburg, NY, and Silver Lake, Los Angeles.
The folks behind the movie and at The Oscar Grant Foundation are asking you simply “commit” via Facebook and Twitter to help spread the word about the project.
