Maroon 5, Taylor Swift, fun., Rihanna Lead 2013 Billboard Music Award Nominees

Last week we shared the news that comedian Tracy Morgan would be hosting the 2013 Billboard Music Awards , which is set to be held less than one month in Las Vegas.

Now Billboard has unveiled the nominations for this year’s show, with Taylor Swift , Maroon 5 , and fun. , leading nominees with a total of 11 nods each.

Rihanna comes in second place this year with 10 nominations, with Carly Rae Jepsen following in third place with a total of nine nominations.

U.K. boy band One Direction , who released two albums last year, follows behind her in fourth place with eight nominations, with two of their songs being in the same category.

This year’s nominees were based on key fan interactions with music, including album and digital singles sales, radio airplay, touring, streaming and social interactions on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, VEVO, Spotify and other popular online destinations for music.

These measurements were tracked year-round by Billboard and its data partners, including Nielsen Entertainment and Next Big Sound .

The show will air live at 8/7c on ABC from the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Sunday, May 19th. Take a look at the full list of nominees below:
