Jourdan Dunn Lands First Solo Vogue Cover + New Maybelline CommercialsThough we can all agree that 12 years shouldn’t have to pass for a black model to grace the cover of British Vogue on their own, we’re also excited to see 2015 become the year of Jourdan Dunn.
She shared the good news on Twitter and Intagram on Friday afternoon:
“I’m so Happy to finally say I’M ON THE COVER OF BRITISH VOGUE!!! Thank you @britishvogue, Patrick Demarchelier and Kate Phelan for making this happen and also thank you all for the Love and Support it means everything to me #2015YearOfTheDunn.”
Beginning her modeling career in 2006, at age 16, Jourdan was the first black model to walk a Prada runway in over a decade in 2008.
In November 2008, Jourdan covered Vogue UK’s “British Beauty Now” issue alongside Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Eden Clark.
She also fronted Miss Vogue‘s second issue in April 2014. That same month, she became the new face of Maybelline New York.
Watch her in a couple of new TV commercial spots for Maybelline “Fit Me” and Maybelline “Dream Matte Mousse” below.
