Watch: Trailer for South African Coming-of-Age Drama, ‘Ayanda’
Following its Los Angeles Film Festival premiere last month, an official trailer has debuted for Ayanda, a South African coming-of-age story of a young woman on a journey of self-discovery in the male-dominated world of auto repair.
A 21-year old Afro-hipster Ayanda (played by Fulu Mugovhani) is thrown into a world of greasy overalls, gender stereotypes and abandoned vintage cars in a fight to preserve her father’s auto repair shop from being sold eight years after his death.
It was written by Trish Malone and produced by Terry Pheto, Busi Sizani, and Robbie Thorpe.
Ayanda opens in South African theaters on October 2, 2015.
