From the clip above, we see that the ladies of Litchfield Prison are back to their usual antics after last season’s prison lockdown, Alex (Laura Prepon) is returning, and Crazy Eyes (Uzo Aduba) has penned a story.
“It’s not just sex, it’s love,” she tells a repulsed guard. “It’s two people connecting… with four other people… and aliens.” LMAO.
Created by Jenji Kohan, the Emmy Award nominated dramedy is based on the 2011 memoir Orange Is the New Black: My Year in a Women’s Prison written by Piper Kerman, which tells of her experiences in prison.
It centers on Piper Chapman (played by Taylor Schilling), a bisexual woman, engaged to a man, living in New York City, who is sentenced to 15 months in a women’s federal prison for transporting a suitcase full of drug money to her now ex-lover Alex, who also ended up in the same prison.
The show also stars Michael J. Harney, Kate Mulgrew, Danielle Brooks, Natasha Lyonne, Taryn Manning, Selenis Leyva, Adrienne C. Moore, Dascha Polanco, Nick Sandow, Yael Stone, Samira Wiley and Laverne Cox.
Produced by Tilted Productions in association with Lionsgate Television, the series received 12 Primetime Emmy Award nominations and won Outstanding Comedy Series at the 25th GLAAD Media Awards last year.
At the 4th Critics’ Choice Television Awards in June, actresses Kate Mulgrew and Uzo Aduba won Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series and Best Guest Performer in a Comedy Series, respectively.
Uzo also won Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series at the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards.
When Season 3 debuts on Netflix in the U.S. it will also be available on Netflix Australia.
