Watch: Childish Gambino’s Creepy, Then Delightful Video for “Sober”

Childish Gambino‘s love interest endures quite a bit of his staring, wobbling around, and finger-dancing in these Hiro Murai-directed visuals for “Sober.”

As the only other customer sitting in a diner with Gambino, she seems reasonably creeped out until he unveils some impressive dance moves.

However, right after we’re led to assume she is happily entertained we realize that time hasn’t moved a single minute since when he first began staring at her. Just a part of an elaborate daydream…

Produced by Gambino along with Ludwig Göransson, the synth-pop tune appears on rapper/singer’s Kauai EP, which released on October 3, 2014 via Glassnote Records.

The EP also features collaborations with Jaden Smith and Christian Rich.

The title of Gambino’s next studio project is being rumored as ALMANAC, the adult phase preceded by 2011’s Camp (childhood) and 2013’s Because the Internet (adolescence).
