WTF?! Is Russell Simmons’ “Harriet Tubman Sex Tape” Supposed to Be Funny? [NSFW]

Um.. wtf?! Russell Simmons ‘ All Def Digital Youtube channel released this “Harriet Tubman Sex Tape” on Wednesday with obvious hopes that it would go viral because it’s sooooooo funny.

However if it does gain popularity, it will be for all the wrong reasons. In it, Harriet Tubman has sex with her slave master to blackmail him for freedom…

At least that’s what I think happened because I’m not sure what the fuck I just watched.

Written and directed by Daryl Johnson ( @theREELdarylj ) , the digital short is garnering outrage that needs to move beyond the reactions in the video’s comments section:

“This is not funny, how can take a female heroic icon like Harriet Tubman and make a mockery out of her.”

“Maybe I couldve looked past the disrespectful nature of this video if it was at least funny. FLATLINE”

“This is absolutely disgusting!”

“Take this sh*t off the internet…how disrespectful”

Whether Russell reviews the channel’s videos before they are uploaded is unclear but he certainly finds it the “funniest thing” he’s “ever seen.”

Thoughts? Is it disrespectful? Unfunny? Or are people overreacting?
