L.A. singer-songwriter Jhené Aiko has set a new release date for her long-awaited studio debut album, Souled Out , now scheduled to drop on September 9th via No I.D. ‘s ARTium/Def Jam.
She has also shared the album’s official artwork, which features her small, limp body ascended to the heavens.
Two singles have been released from the LP so far: a Cocaine 80s -assisted “ To Love and Die ” and “ The Pressure ,” both produced by the Fisticuffs .

“I love to write in my mind as I’m driving,” she recently told Billboard about her creative process. “I put on a track, an instrumental, and just ride around and see what I come up with… I feel like that’s one of the major tests: Can I ride around to this song? And if I can’t, then I’m like, ‘We need to fix the song so that it’s one of those songs you can put in the car and drive to.’”

Though not yet confirmed, Jhené past collaborators Big Sean , Kendrick Lamar , Schoolboy Q , Ab-Soul , and Jay Rock are expected to make appearances on Souled Out , with additional production by No I.D., Key Wane , James Fauntleroy , and Dot Da Genius .
The set is preceded by two acclaimed EPs: 2011’s Sailing Soul(s) and 2013’s Sail Out , which debuted at #8 on the Billboard 200 chart and peaked at #2 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
Following the album’s debut, Jhené will join The Weeknd ‘s King Of The Fall Tour alongside ScHoolboy Q , which will kick off at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center . Get tickets at ticketmaster.com .
