Jhené Aiko Performs “The Worst” on ‘Conan’

The lovely Jhené Aiko hit the Conan stage on Wednesday to perform The Worst, ” a track from her Sail Out EP, which released November 2013.

Incorporating a riff from Erykah Badu ‘s “Bag Lady” to back the rap portion of the song, she followed the soothing yet emotional performance by asking a towering Conan O’brien to be her Valentine, lol. Watch below.

The singer-songwriter’s highly-anticipated debut studio album Souled Out is set to release sometime in May 2014 via ARTium/Def Jam.

The album will feature production from the Fisticuffs , frequent Jhené collaborators, as well as her mentor No I.D. and Dot da Genius .

Though not yet confirmed, rappers Big Sean, Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul , and Jay Rock may make appearances on the set.

2013’s Sail Out debuted at #8 on the Billboard 200 chart and peaked at #2 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, with first-week sales of 34,000 copies in the US.

As the third single from the EP, a video for “The Worst” debuted November 12, 2013. It has peaked at 87 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #25 on Hot R&B and Hip-hop charts.
