2012 BET Awards: Samuel L. Jackson to Host, Kanye West & Beyoncé Lead Nominations

The 12th Annual BET Awards are right around the corner, and the list of nominees were announced yesterday at a press conference in New York. The usuals, Beyoncé and Kanye West lead this year’s event, with Bey nominated for six awards and Kanye nominated for five.

YMCMB ‘s Drake and Lil Wayne each earn four nominations including Best Male Hip-Hop Artist , while last year’s top nominee Chris Brown is nominate for three. It has also been announced that Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj will be performing at the show, with the Lifetime Achievement Award going to legendary Maze featuring Frankie Beverly , who will also take the stage.

Samuel L. Jackson has been tapped to host the event, and the show will air live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on July 1st. Take a look at the full list of nominees below!
