If you’re a R&B fan that wishes singers would return to actual singing or just looking for up-and-comers, you are in for a treat with Kevin Ross .
Currently signed to Motown Records , the young singer-songwriter delivers smooth and impressive vocals, and his piano skills cause many to compare him to icon and living legend Stevie Wonder .
A graduate of Boston’s prestigious Berklee College of Music with a degree in songwriting, Kevin has built quite a resume for himself over the past few years.
He performed at this year’s Essence Music Festival , went on tour with neo-soul crooner Maxwell , and was even named as the “Best New R&B Artist” by AOL Music .
And after penning songs for the likes of Jamie Foxx , Usher and Trey Songz , Kevin released his debut EP titled Dialogue In The Grey on September 16th.
The 4-track EP features guest appearances from Ne-Yo as well as rapper T.I., with piano and electro elements over calm and laid back hip-hop inspired beats.
Its opening track, “ Don’t Say You Will” , is a soulful rework of Kanye West ‘s “Say You Will” from his critically acclaimed fourth studio album 808s & Heartbreak .
Take a listen below and see Kevin live as the opening act for Ne-Yo’s upcoming One Night With Ne-Yo Tour , which kicks off Sunday, October 12th in San Francisco.
