Rick Famuyiwa‘s coming-of-age summer hit DOPE will have a second run in theaters for Labor Day Weekend, it was announced on Monday.

The stereotype-defying dramedy centers on a group of nerdy teens in Inglewood, California who are obsessed with 1990s hip-hop.

Break-out star Shameik Moore (The Watsons Go to Birmingham) leads a cast that includes Tony Revolori (The Grand Budapest Hotel), Kiersey Clemons (Transparent), model Chanel Iman, Blake Anderson (Workaholics), Zoë Kravitz (Mad Max: Fury Road), rappers A$AP Rocky, Tyga, Casey Veggies, and Vince StaplesKeith Stanfield (Selma), and Rick Fox (Hit the Floor).

DOPE was produced and narrated by Forest Whitaker, executive-produced by Pharrell, and co-executive produced by Sean “Diddy” Combs for Significant Productions, i am OTHER, and Revolt Films.

After causing a bidding war at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, the indie film debuted in U.S. theaters on June 19, 2015 via Open Road Films, earning $16.8 million at the box office. Sony will distribute internationally.

DOPE closed the Directors’ Fortnight section at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival, and will be competing in the 2015 Deauville American Film Festival this month.

It will be available on VOD on Sept. 29 and DVD/Blu-ray on Oct. 13.
