If you’re looking at the picture of the singer saying to yourself “why does she look like a statue?,” then try not to think too hard because not only does she look like a statue, she is one!
Artist Jeff Koons made a sculpture of the singer, which is set to be exhibited on November 10th, at the album’s release party. Sandro Botticelli’s Birth of Venus painting is also featured on the cover.
To me, this is the best Lady Gaga album cover since The Fame was released in 2008, and this cover totally makes up for the horrid photoshop disaster that is Born This Way.
The album is currently preceded by the lead single “Applause,” which premiered on August 12, 2013, and officially impacted mainstream radio stations in the U.S. on August 19, 2013.
So far it has managed to peak at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Though not named singles, songs such as “Artpop,” “Aura”, “I Wanna Be with U,” “Jewels & Drugs,” “Manicure,” “Sex Dreams,” and “Swine” just seven songs that have been confirmed to appear on the album.
Rappers T.I., Twista, and Too Short are set as features on the record.
