Beasts of No Nation , an African war drama starring Idris Elba ( Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom ), will premiere worldwide on Netflix on October 16, 2015.

There will also be a limited theatrical release in independent theaters by Bleecker Street the same day, as major theater chains — unwilling to compete with Netflix — announced a boycott when the streaming service acquired the film’s rights for $12 million earlier this year.
