Watch: Ariana Grande Gets Into Intergalactic Battle in “Break Free” Video

Ariana Grande defends her spaceship and saves the day as a little space warrior in her fantastical Chris Marrs Piliero -directed music video for “Break Free.”

“It’s inspired by Jane Fonda in Barbarella and Star Wars and space,” Ariana told Ryan Seacrest on Tuesday. “It’s more throwback, campy.”

It’s definitely noticeable that Ariana is feeling more comfortable with music videos in comparison to the awkwardness of “ Problem .”

The fun Zedd -produced single will appear on the pop/R&B star’s sophomore album My Everything , which will debut on August 25th via Republic Records.

The new video comes on the heels of debuting a smooth “Best Mistake,” featuring rapper/new boyfriend Big Sean . Enjoy below.

In addition to her new bae, My Everything will feature appearances from The Weeknd , A$AP Ferg , and Childish Gambino .

“ Bang Bang ,” her collaboration with Jessie J and Nicki Minaj will also appear on the LP.
