Watch: First Trailer for ‘Rocky’ Sequel, ‘Creed,’ Starring Michael B. Jordan

Warner Bros. has finally unveiled an official first trailer for its highly-anticipated Rocky spin-off, Creed (2015), directed by Fruitvale Station ‘s Ryan Coogler .

Coogler reunites with Fruitvale Station superstar Michael B. Jordan , who plays Adonis Creed, the son of Rocky Balboa’s ( Sylvester Stallone ) late friend and rival, Apollo Creed.

In the clip above, we see Adonis attempting to emerge from the shadow of the world heavyweight champion father who died before he was born.

While in Philadelphia, he tracks down Rocky, who reluctantly agrees to train and mentor the young boxer when he sees the strength and determination he had known in Apollo.

Written by director Coogler with Aaron Covington , the boxing drama is based on characters from the iconic Rocky series created by Stallone, who also serves as a producer.

Rounding out Creed ‘s cast is Graham McTavish ( Outlander ), Phylicia Rashad ( Good Deeds ), Tessa Thompson ( Selma ), and Wood Harris ( Remember the Titans ).

The film is produced by the late Robert Chartoff, William Chartoff, Kevin King Templeton, David Winkler, and Irwin Winkler for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures, in association with New Line Cinema, and a Chartoff Winkler Production. It is executive produced by Nicolas Stern .

It is set for a nationwide theatrical release in the U.S. on November 25, 2015 through Warner Bros. International release as well as all television distribution will be handled by MGM.
