This year is shaping up to be a great year for pop music: Justin Timberlake released his third studio album The 20/20 Experience in March of this year, with the album’s second part dropping next month; Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez have had great debuts; and it Britney Spears, Mariah Carey , and Lady Gaga are all expected to release new albums this fall.
Adding to the list of excitement we have Katy Perry , who has unveiled the title and release date of her upcoming fourth studio album Prism .
Set to be released on October 22, 2013, the album will feature production and writing credits from Diplo, Sia, Max Martin, Dr. Luke , and Bonnie McKee , just to name a few.
So far, Katy has teased two song titles that can be expected to appear on the record: “Double Rainbow” and “Bad Photographs.”
To announce the new era, the singer had a golden 18 wheeler with “Katy Perry – Prism – 10-22-13″ emblazoned on its sides, top and back was spotted in Los Angeles last week.

“I know exactly the record I want to make next. I know the artwork, the coloring and the tone….. I even know what type of tour I’m doing next. I’ll be very pleased if the vision I have in my head becomes a reality. Making another Teenage Dream record would be silly. . It’s not of any interest for me to try and outdo myself at every corner. Eventually you just like pop, explode.”
The singer’s last studio album Teenage Dream made Billboard history with five #1 singles, a single-album record for a female artist. Thoughts?
