Brooklyn is in for quite an experience when Erykah Badu and Yasiin Bey (Mos Def) bring their “You’re causing quite a disturbance” live show to BAM on June 8th!

The neo-soul queen and legendary wordsmith team up with Brooklyn composer Ted Hearne and the Brooklyn Philharmonic to perform collaborative arrangements of songs from past works, including Badu’s 2008 album New Amerykah Part One: 4th World War .

Hearne will also present new music featuring perspectives from prominent contemporary African-American thinkers on New Amerykah ’s ideas about identity, hip-hop, and community.
