Budding starlet Ariana Grande stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Wednesday to perform her Mac Miller -assisted new single, “ The Way .”
19-year-old singer-songwriter and star of Nickelodeon’s Sam & Cat debuted those sweet yet powerful vocals for a slightly older audience who did their best to keep up.
She left not a single note in the studio, unlike pretty much all of her pop and R&B contemporaries.
And though you couldn’t tell by how great she sounded, Ariana says her nerves were getting the best of her:
“Was super nervous my legs wouldn’t move!!! lol!! But I had so much fun I’m happy with how it turned out and so grateful for the experience. Mac killed it. :)”
“The Way” is the lead single from Ariana’s debut album titled Daydreamin’ , which will be out August 2013.
Sampling Big Pun ‘s 1998 hit “Still Not a Player,” the song soared up to #1 on the iTunes charts within seven hours of being released on March 25, 2013.
It peaked at #10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and reached gold certification on May 6, 2013. Enjoy her performance on Ellen below!
