‘Chronicle’s’ Superpowers Barely Beat ‘The Woman in Black’ at Weekend Box Office

New thriller Chronicle came into a close call with The Woman in Black but still debuted at #1 at the weekend box office. Both films exceeded studio expectations with Chronicle expected to debut with $15 million and The Woman in Black expected to gross $14 million.

Drew Barrymore’s Big Miracle managed to debut with $8.5 million, as the studio anticipated, and the film sits in the #4 spot behind last week’s #1 The Grey . Take a look at the Top 10 below:
