This week, electro-R&B songstress D∆WN (aka Dawn Richard) graced BBC Radio 1Xtra’s “Targé Menagé Live” with a cover of The Weeknd‘s Fifty Shades of Grey hit “Earned It,” alongside UK rapper Bonkaz.

“Really love flipping great songs and making them mine,” Dawn tweeted Saturday morning. “Check out my twisted version of ‘earned it.'”

She also performed a riveting stripped-down version of “Titans,” the latest single from her acclaimed sophomore album, Blackheart. Enjoy below.

A darker succession to Dawn’s 2013 solo debut Goldenheart, Blackheart released on January 15, 2015 though her own Our Dawn Entertainment.

“‘Goldenheart’ put you on a battlefield in medieval times,” she told Billboard last year. “‘Blackheart’ will put you in a place where you’re stuck in a rainforest by yourself, and you realize that you have all this armor, but you have this blood on you as well.”

Supported by videos for Blow Tide: The Paradox Effect,” Choices: The Interlude,” Projection,” and Calypso, the album peaked at #1 on US Top Independent Albums, #2 on US Dance/Electronic Albums, and #3 on US Top Heatseekers Albums charts.

Most recently, the singer-songwriter-dancer recently dropped a double visual for “Titans” and “James Dean.” Watch below.
