Though led by an emotional first single “I Bet” , Jackie is still predominantly upbeat with appearances by Missy Elliott, Pitbull, Joe Jonas, R3hab , and T.I. See what she had to say about the album below.

On why she decided to name the album after her mom:

“I felt like it was the best title for where I am in my life right now. Being a mom, I can now see the world through her eyes and fully understand what she was thinking. Being a mom has changed me forever.”

On how is Jackie different from previous albums:

“I am so much more expressive and confident than I have ever been in my life. Even though there has been musical and personal growth, this album really takes me back in time, to when I didn’t overthink the creative process. Before, I would have said Goodies was my favorite album, but now I believe Jackie is my best body of work.”

On what most excites her about releasing this album:

“The album release is May 4th, and the tour starts May 3rd. This is my first tour in six years, and I am really looking forward to seeing everyone again! It’s going to be a great time.”

What she wants to tell her fans:

“I want you to feel realness, feel happiness, and all the positive energy I have in my life right now. But most importantly, I hope you play the album over and over.”

Jackie , which is available now for pre-order , will be released on May 4th via Epic Records.

Ciara’s “Jackie Tour” will kick off on May 3, 2015 in Chicago. It will hit New York, Boston, New Orleans, Dallas, and Los Angeles before wrapping up on May 31 in San Francisco.
