Yada Golsharifi and Tamara Al Gabbani for DKNY “Ramadan Summer” 2014
As part of
DKNY
‘s expansion into Arab nations, the New York City-based fashion brand launched its halal couture “Ramadan Summer” collection earlier this month to celebrate this year’s Ramadan, which runs through July 28th.
The 12-piece capsule collection is both modest and luxurious, featuring long, flowing dresses and skirts, jumpsuits and pants and long-sleeved and three-quarter-length jackets and shirts.
“The fabrics drape around the body, encasing the curves that nature gave Middle Eastern women without making them obvious, or attempting to disguise them in bag-like abayas,”
