If you wanted Baauer ‘s overnight hit single, “ Harlem Shake , ” to disappear, 2013 is not your year. Even with a notable slide in streaming, the song holds the #1 spot for a fifth consecutive week on the Billboard Hot 100 chart .
Shaking up the chart a few weeks ago due to the addition of U.S. YouTube video streaming data , its lead over Macklemore & Ryan Lewis ‘ “ Thrift Shop ,” featuring Wanz , is starting to shrink.
“Shop” meanwhile still manages to hold the #1 spots on Radio Songs , Digital Songs and On-Demand Songs charts, where it reigns for a record-extending 11th week on the latter.
Steady at #3 this week is Bruno Mars ‘ “ When I Was Your Man ,” the official second single from his second studio album Unorthodox Jukebox .
Appearing on Jimmy Fallon and Saturday Night Live last week pays off for Justin Timberlake , whose #4-peaking “ Suit & Tie ,” featuring Jay-Z , returns to spot this week.
His second single, “ Mirrors, “ is the Hot 100’s top Digital Gainer , leaping from #77 to #25 and jumping #48 to #8 on Digital Songs.
This makes Justin the first artist to earn the Streaming and Digital Gainer awards in the same week with different songs since the Streaming Gainer ribbon was introduced a year ago this month.
