I have some bad and not so surprising news for my fellow Brandy fans and stans out there. According to RCA Records‘ official website the album is set to be officially released on October 16th. This marks the fourth time the album has had a setback. It was first announced to release in April, then sometime this month, before moving to the month of October all together.
The video for the album’s lead single “Put It Down,” which features singer/part-time rapper Chris Brown, was officially released this week on BET’s 106 & Park and VEVO. It has so far managed to peak at #117 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles, a chart that lists the top singles below number 100 that have yet to chart on the main Billboard Hot 100. Chart rankings are based on radio airplay and sales, and #23 US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.
I feared that this would happen to her. I’ve been a Brandy fan since I was 8 years old (my grandma accidental bought me her Never Say Never album, when I asked for Britney’s …Baby One More Time cd single) and I will continue to root for her and support her career.
I really hope that they begin the promo train for the album so that people can be aware of it coming out. I also hope that there isn’t another push back because if there is, there’s a risk of people losing interest.
