Lensed at La Bella Lodge in Gisenyi, Rwanda by photographer John Oakley , the campaign exudes the couture collection’s luxurious take on East African wax prints, such as Kitenge, Ntoma, and Liputa.
Ramazani was launched in 2013 by Made In Kigali’s 26-year-old founder and CEO Scorpio Ramazani Khoury , who was profiled at AllAfrica.com this month.
The brand’s first major showcase took place in May 2014 at the African Development Bank ‘s 50th Anniversary in Kigali, Rwanda.Samar, who is also serves as Ramazani’s brand ambassador, had this to say after organizing the fashion shoot:
“I have a mission… My aim is to promote Africa through Fashion, the beauty of Africa and African pride through fashion, the Kitenge African Print Textiles (Wax). Yes, we can, in Africa! Because of you Africa will move forward through fashion too. This is just the beginning!”
