Remember last week when we announced that Mariah Carey had chosen July 23rd as the official release date for her upcoming 14th studio album, The Art of Letting Go ?
Well, that’s not going to happen . The singer took to her official Twitter page last night and stated:
“While making this album, I got so immersed in the creative process that I just don’t feel I would be doing it justice to release it on 7/23. I’d rather not exclude meaningful songs. I want to give you this album as it’s meant to be heard. When I’m ready, you’ll be the first 2 know!”
Even though the album has been pushed back, its lead single “#Beautiful,” which features Miguel , is still making big waves on the charts.
So far it has peaked at #15 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, as well as #3 on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Take a look at what Miguel had to say about the song below:
“The hashtag in the title of this song is particularly fitting because the word that comes before ‘beautiful’ when I sing the chorus is an expletive that I can’t say on air. But the hashtag is particularly fitting for that expletive, if you just kind of pay a little bit of attention.”
Mariah has worked with producers Jermaine Dupri, Bryan-Michael Cox, Hit-Boy and The-Dream . Thoughts?
