Loosely based on the Phillip K. Dick novel, the show takes place ten years after Steven Spielberg‘s 2002 film, following the demolition of the Pre-Crime Unit, which used the psychic powers of a three children — Precogs (“Precognitives”) Dash, Arthur and Agatha — to stop violent crimes from happening.
Set in 2065 Washington, D.C., it follows the unlikely partnership between Precog Dash (Stark Sands), who is haunted by the future and shrewd police detective Lara Vega (Meagan Good), who is haunted by her past. Together they will race to stop the worst crimes of the year before they happen.
As they navigate this future America, they will search for Dash’s missing twin brother, Arthur (Nick Zano), and elude others who will stop at nothing to exploit their precog abilities. Also complicating matters is Dash and Arthur’s ingenious, but reclusive, foster sister, Agatha (Laura Regan), who just wants Dash to return home.
Max Borenstein, who developed the series says, “The film took the angle of what it’s like to be a cop working the pre-crime. This difference here is that the precog is no longer a tool. The precog is our hero.”
Borenstein serves as executive producer along with Spielberg, Kevin Falls, Darryl Frank, Justin Falvey, and Mark Mylod.
Co-produced by Amblin Entertainment, 20th Century Fox Television and Paramount Television, Minority Report‘s will premiere Monday, September 21, at 9 pm on FOX.
