Watch: Sam Smith Performs Emotional “Stay With Me” on VH1 Buzz

While British soul crooner Sam Smith is dominating the album charts back home, he’s bringing his lush vocals to our side of the pond.

On Friday, he graced the VH1’s Big Morning Buzz stage with a truly perfect performance of his hit “ Stay With Me .”

The ballad is the third single and just one of many tear-jerking odes to unrequited love from Sam’s debut studio album, In The Lonely Hour .

The 15-track set released May 26, 2014 in the UK via Capitol Records, and won’t hit the U.S. until June 17, 2014.

The 22-year-old singer-songwriter saw his breakthrough in 2013 as a feature on Disclosure ‘s “ Latch , ” which peaked at #11 on the UK chart, followed by Naughty Boy ‘s “ La La La ,” which reached #1 on the UK Singles chart.

Led by singles “ Lay Me Down “ and “ Money on My Mind , ” In The Lonely Hour has now spent two weeks atop the UK Albums chart.
