He may not have taken home the Oscar for Best Original Song at the 2014 Academy Awards this past Sunday, but Pharrell Williams still has a few reasons to celebrate.

His second studio album G I R L was released on Tuesday, March 3, and has generated positive reviews from music critics with AllMusic rating the album four out of five stars, while Billboard gives it 85/100.

Another reason for the singer-rapper-songwriter-producer’s state of joy could be his much talked about performance at the Oscars, which featured him dancing with Meryl Streep, Lupita Nyong’o and Amy Adams in the audience.

It was definitely something the show needed, alongside its wonderful host Ellen Degeneres , to keep the people at home (as well as some of the stars at the event) from being bored.

And yet another reason that Mr. Williams should rejoice is because for a second week in a row , his single Happy holds the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 00 chart.

The song also gains in all three of the charts metrics (sales, airplay and streaming), while sales continues to make up the majority (53%) of its chart points.

For a third week, it leads the Digital Songs chart with a 3% increase with 413,000 downloads sold.

Having sold 402,000 last week, “Happy” is the first song to earn two straight weeks of more than 400,000 in sales since Robin Thicke ‘s “Blurred Lines,” featuring Pharrell and T.I. , reached the number in the three consecutive weeks last June.

Coming in at #2 for a second week is Katy Perry and Juicy J ‘s “Dark Horse.” The track tops Streaming Songs for a third week, although with a 3% drop to 11.2 million streams, and also rules the subscription services-based On-Demand Songs chart for an eighth week.
