2014 GLAAD Media Awards - Nominees

Ah awards season. While they’re many different awards that focus on different types of audiences, with some like The Grammys, VMAs, AMAs and Billboard Music Awards catering to a little bit of everyone, there’s one major organization that caters to myself and my fellow people.

For those of you who are reading this asking yourself “What the hell are you talking about Teonny?,” I’m talking about the 25th annual GLAAD Media Awards of course.

Elton John, Lady Gaga and Tegan & Sara are among the music nominees for awards in various music categories. And shows such as Glee, Cyndi Lauper: Still So Unusual , and Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce , which chronicles the career of the New Orleans bounce music leader, are among nominees in the TV category.

Altogether, 93 nominees in the English-language categories , with cable channels earning 28 bids and broadcast networks receiving 11.

Take a look at the nominees for the event below, which will be presented on April 12 a the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, and in New York City on May 3 at the Waldorf Astoria.
