Jamaica stand up! Reggae/rock singer Tessanne Chin was crowned the winner of NBC’s The Voice Tuesday night, beating out 16-year-old Jacquie Lee and Will Champlin.
After her win, an emotional Tessanne premiered her new single “Tumbling Down,” written for her by Ryan Tedder, the show’s in-house songwriter-producer.
Earlier in the two-hour finale she performed “Love Can Move Mountains” with Canadian songstress Celine Dion.
The 28-year-old shares the victory with her hometown Kingston, Jamaica and her coach Adam Levine, who has won previously.
“It’s been nothing but a joy to work with you,” she told him before a winner was announced. “You’ve been a shoulder to cry on, you’ve been a friend, you’ve been invested, you’ve been true. I love you, I trust you.”
The sixth season of The Voice begins with a special two-night premiere on Monday Feb. 24 and Tuesday Feb. 25.
