It has been announced that Kanye West will indeed be promoting his latest album Yeezus , which was released officially on June 18, 2013.
After a fiercely guarded release with no singles or videos, the album’s official first single has been announced as “Black Skinhead.”
The song, which holds the #2 spot on the album’s 10 song tracklisting, is set to be released to radio on July 4, 2013 with a music video to follow.

Ray Rahman of Entertainment Weekly cited “Black Skinhead” as one of the album’s best songs, describing it as “a galloping punk-rap manifesto,” and it has so far managed to peak at #69 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, #21 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, and #15 on the US Rap Songs chart.
Until now, Yeezy purposefully avoided a full-court press for the album by stating:
“I have this new strategy, it’s called no strategy. I have a plan to sell more music it’s called ‘make better music.”
Even without any promotion, and only critical and fan reviews (or simply just a loyal fanbase), Kanye earned his sixth #1 album on the Billboard 200 Albums chart, with Yeezus selling a total of 327,000 copies in its first week.
Only his first album, 2004′s The College Dropout, managed to debut at #2 with sales of selling 441,000 copies in its first week.
