Stop whatever it is that you are doing , because Queen Britney Spears is back with a new song, and it’s far too important to not listen to.
If you read that first sentence and asked yourself “Is he serious?” then the answer is simple: of course I am!
There should be no surprise to you guys over my love of Britney, I mean, I’ve been here for her since I was 8, and turning my back on her at 22 would just be plain wrong.
Set to appear on the soundtrack for the upcoming movie The Smurfs 2 (out July 31), “Ooh La La“ was written by Bonnie McKee, alongside J. Kash, Lola Blanc and Fransisca Hall, and was produced by Dr. Luke, Cirkut and Ammo.
Described as vintage Britney by E! Online writer Alexis L. Loinaz, “Ooh La La” is a pop song with elements of electro-pop, electronica, and pop rock, with a semi-electronic and distorted breakdown that sounds like a revamped version of Usher‘s “Oh Oh Uh Oh Uh Oh Oh Oh Oh” from his #1 hit single “OMG.”
Whats interesting about the song is that it was originally written for co-writer Lola Blanc, who came up with the title as a play on her name, and who planned to use it as her debut single.
There’s really no need for me to say how I feel about the song, because loving it would be an understatement.
It’s always great to get new music from someone who I’m a fan of! It’s like they went into the studio and said to their team “I need to record a new song to keep Teonny Spears happy for a few months until I decide to release a new album,” or something like that.
She also shared details about her new album by stating:
“I want to definitely take this album and have a new approach with it and make it a little different than anything I’ve ever done. Will has a lot of really interesting different tracks that I’ve listened to that are really cool that I haven’t actually written on yet, but there’s a lot of guitar and I think people will be surprised with this album. It’s gong to be really different.”
She also revealed that she will begin working with William Orbit, the Grammy-winning producer behind Madonna‘s “Ray of Light,” starting next week.
Whatever the case is, I’m ready and I’m so fucking happy to have my bitch back on the radio with new music. Take a listen to the song below:
