Splitting into a two-day event this year, Drake ‘s 4th Annual OVO Festival is incorporating a more soulful approach than last year with two exciting newcomers: singer-songwriter Frank Ocean and British post-dubstep/neo soul artist James Blake .
The two burgeoning stars are excellent choices, though I’ve yet to see Blake live and Ocean has been rather disappointing in that realm.
The latter had a stellar 2012 debut with channel Orange, made this year’s TIME 100 list, and has us eagerly waiting on his follow-up effort. While Blake’s sophomore album Overgrown (one of my faves right now) has seen critical acclaim this year.
They’ll hit the stage on day one of OVO Fest 2013 , and Drake and a few special guests will perform on day two. Last year, The Weeknd, A$AP Rocky, and 2 Chainz performed.
