After giving fans a few singles for almost a year, Ciara has finally set a release date for her self-titled fifth studio album, formerly
One Woman Army. We can expect the record on July 9, 2013.
The album will serve as her first album to include a diverse roster of collaborators, including songwriting by Ciara herself. The singer recorded songs with Tricky Stewart, Hit-Boy, Soundz, Rodney Jerkins, Bangladesh, and Jermaine Dupri, just to name a few.
So far the singer has released four singles — “Sweat,” which features fellow Atlanta artist 2 Chainz, “Sorry” “Got Me Good,” and the album’s official lead single “Body Party“ made its way online last week and hit iTunes yesterday.
“Body Party” has so far managed to receive generally positive reviews from music critics, with Fuse calling it “a slinky, synthy” strong track, while the Huffington Post complimented the “smooth R&B beat.” Thoughts?
