Beyoncé’s SHAPE April 2013 Swimwear: Karla Colletto, Hervé Léger, Jean Paul Gaultier
Inside the issue, she reveals what it took to drop 57 pounds after giving birth to one-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy.
“I didn’t have a lot of time to lose the weight because I scheduled a show three months after I gave birth, which I would never do again. I’m not a person that is naturally very thin. I am a person that has to work at keeping my body in shape.”
For her Cliff Watts-photographed cover spread titled, Above and Beyoncé, the super star poses in a sexy black Hervé Léger bandage cutout swimsuit (net-a-porter.com), a bright lime Jean Paul Gaultier cardigan, Jets White Label swim bottoms (simplybeach.com), Gucci heels, and Ofira Jewelry selected by stylist Ty Hunter.
The singer says that “the most important thing about creating a healthy lifestyle is figuring which workout makes you happy.” For her, it’s dancing, but cutting back on food was 80% of the process.
“Some people prefer the gym, but when I have to put on workout clothes and run on a treadmill I get bored… I ate a very low calorie diet. I stayed away from red meat and ate a lot of fish, replaced pasta and rice with quinoa, and drank a lot of water.”
