Last month, news surfaced that Australian singer and actress Kylie Minogue had parted ways with her manager Terry Blamey, who had served in the role since her debut in 1987.
Following that news, it has been announced that the singer has joined Jay-Z‘s Roc Nation family, but only for management services. Kylie is still signed to Parlophone as a recording artist. Take a look at the statement from Roc Nation below:
“We would like to welcome Aussie singer, recording artist, songwriter, actress and designer Kylie Minogue to the Roc Nation family! In a career now spanning 25 years, Kylie has released 11 studio albums, two live CDs, eight live concert DVDs, a greatest hits double album, and multiple video packages.
She has released over 50 hit singles worldwide, including the Grammy-winning “Come Into My World,” and has sold more than 68 million albums worldwide. Needless to say, we’re excited to have Kylie join the Roc fam.”
Ms. Minogue joins Rihanna, Solange Knowles, Wale, Shakira, and Meek Mill — just to name a few, under the label’s management roster.
It has also been announced that the singer will be releasing a new single “soon,” and has been working on her 12th studio album since the Spring of 2012.
The album will follow 2010’s Aphrodite, which managed to debt and peak at #19 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart, and #1 on the U.K. Albums chart.
The album was supported by the very successful Aphrodite World Tour, which featured a total of 77 shows, including 17 in North America. Overall, the tour grossed an estimated $60 million dollars. Thoughts?
