Drake’s “Started From The Bottom” Music Video
Drake not only took home a Grammy for Best Rap Album (Take Care) tonight, he also released a highly-anticipated set of visuals for his new single, “Started From The Bottom.”
Directed by Director X (“HYFR“) and Drake himself, the video was shot in Toronto and features some comical scenes of the rapper and his boys clowning around as a lowly store clerks back in the day and partying with some Toronto beauties in the present.
The Mike Zombie-produced track, which has received mixed reviews, will appear on the Canadian rapper’s third studio album, Nothing Was the Same. The song has reached #22 on the iTunes Top Songs chart, as well as #3 on the iTunes Top Hip Hop/Rap Songs chart.
“I feel sometimes that people don’t have enough information about my beginnings and therefore they make up a life story for me that isn’t consistent with actual events,” he wrote. “I did not buy my way into this spot and it was the furthest thing from easy to achieve. I am proud of every part of my past and I’m excited for this song to find a place in your life as well.”
