Anyone who’s seen Beasts of the Southern Wild (which I’ve seen three times) can understand how in love we all are with its adorable little star, nine-year-old Quvenzhané Wallis.
Now known as the youngest Best Actress Oscar nominee, she covers the special Oscar issue of Entertainment Weekly.
Trading in the girly dresses and accessories we’ve become used to seeing her in, Quvenzhané rocks a black pant suit with a white shirt, black-and-white striped tie and a head full of curls for the magazine.
Quvenzhané, who plays a dauntless six-year-old girl named Hushpuppy in the Benh Zeitlin-directed fantasy drama, recently chatted with NBC‘s Ann Curry in her home state of Lousiana.
She dishes on the moment she found out about her historic Oscar nomination, teaches Ann how to eat crayfish “Louisiana style” (she can take down five pounds herself), sings a little Justin Bieber and admits to being a “triple threat.” Watch below!
